Description

AQ Sound Bath is a sculptural sound installation that creates a ritual around burning and air quality to produce a dynamic soundscape of synchronized beats between five resonators.

Each sculpture emits staccatos in various beat patterns, switching individual at various intervals between many different instruments: baselines, guitar, clapping, gongs and more.

Visitors can lie on yoga mats, pillows or mattresses and enjoy the experience, surrounded by repurposed materials found in the desert near the Salton Sea.

Visitors are invited to burn sage, place combustibles in a burn barrel or otherwise produce something that transforms into particulate matter. As the elements ignite, an air quality sensor will read the live data and the resonators will respond with synchronized orchestral arrangements.
